Recently BHEL (Bharat Heavy Electrical Limited) has established Solar based EV Charging Station (SEVCs) for Electric Vehicles on Delhi- Chandigarh Highway under FAME (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) Scheme of MHI.
Delhi-Chandigarh Highway becomes the first highway to have an eco-friendly SOLAR-based EV Charging Station.
The SEVCs have been set up in Karnal (Midway to both Delhi & Chandigarh) at a Resort.
It was inaugurated by Union Minister for Heavy Industries Shri (Dr.) Mahendra Nath Pandey in the presence of Dr. Nalin Shinghal (CMD, BHEL) and other Officials of Both MHI (Ministry of Heavy Industries) & BHEL.
This Charging Station is fully capable to serve all Electric Vehicles plying on this highway.
Such type of Charging Stations needs to be installed at regular distances on all the Highways so that People will not hesitate to upgrade from fuel-driven vehicles to Electric Vehicles for a clean & pollution-free future with reduced carbon footprints.
