On the launch of Darwin EVAT Electric Scooters, Mr. Saurabh Mohan Saxena, Director and Head – Automobile Business, Darwin Platform Group of Companies (DPGC), said:
“With the launch of three models- D-5, D- 7 and D-14 with Make in India model for the world, we are embarking on a new journey and DPGC has taken a big leap forward to carbon neutrality and sustainability. We are introducing EVs that are at par with Japanese Standards and have got an international quality certification with Quality Austria Central Asia. The company and group would initially invest nearly Rs 450 Crore in this transformation and is taking a comprehensive approach, ranging from research and development to production of green vehicles, which also includes strategic collaborations and partnerships.”

Darwin D5 (Darwin 5) Electric Scooter Price is ₹68,000 (USD $908)
Darwin D7 (Darwin 7) Electric Scooter Price is ₹73,000 (USD $975)

These prices include FAME II subsidy, GST, and optional accessories which include a Home Charger
All the prices are exclusive of state subsidy, registration charges, road tax, vehicle insurance charges, and helmet charges, etc.

Motor, Battery & Charging Time
Darwin Electric Scooters comes with 250 Watt BLDC (Brushless DC) Waterproof Motor
The buyer has the option to select Batteries from Lead-Acid & Lithium-ion Battery Packs with either 48 Volt or 60 Volt. It takes around 4 to 5 hours to get fully charged
Darwin Electric Scooter Mileage / Driving Range
All three Electric Scooters come with a driving range/mileage of 70 Kms to 120 Kms per full Charge. The Prices revealed by the company are for escooters with 70 Kms/85 Kms per charge of mileage. For 120 Kms of driving Range buyer has to select a different Battery Option. For 120 Kms Range option, the prices will be higher which the Company has not revealed so far
Darwin Electric Scooter Top Speed
The Electric Scooter can achieve a top speed of 25 kms / hr to 30 kms / hr. It comes with three driving modes: ECO, City & Turbo. In Turbo mode the Electric Scooter can accelerate from 0 to 30 kms/hr in just 3 seconds
